Keywords:
organic matter determinationsAbstract
The paper is based on organic matter determinations by the oxidation method in neutral medium carried out within the Eastern profile of Constanţa at a 5 to 30 nautical mil distance from the shore. The results were interpreted also on basis salinity degree and by suspensions tests performed at the stations in the respective area. The organic matter was distributed unevenly, both from one season to another and in space. Lowest amounts of organic matter were recorded in February, while highest values were obtained in summer (June and August). Organic matter amount was less at the points situated in open sea.
