Abstract

The author studied thoroughly the feeding conditions of young Pomatomus saltator (L.1758), in the water layers near the Romanian littoral of the Black Sea. The researches covered several years included the qualitative and quantitative aspects of this issue. The feeding system was correlated with the size of the individuals and season. In the second part of the paper consequences of the feeding conditions on growth rate are analysed. On this occasion, some relations were established and indexes determined, the value of which pointed to the link existing between feeding and individual growth.
