Based on 276 samples collected during the years 1973, 1974 and 1976 from the marine area is front of the Danube Delta, the features of zooplankton populations are presented in the paper. In the last years an increase of the density and biomass of some important zooplanktonic groups (meroplankton and Cladocera) has been recorded. Consequently, the trophic potential of the Romanian predeltaic area is high.
