This paper presents the researches conducted between 1981 and 1983 concerning the gonad maturation of the trout Salmo gairdneri irideus bred in the Black Sea water and artificial spawning of this species in the conditions of the Black Sea shore. The results pointed out the normal development of gonads irrespective of the duration of growing period in sea water as well as a normal embryo and larval development, similar in brackish waters of 4‰ and 7‰ in relation to fresh water.
